Meeting Summary
Altoona City Council heard public comments about the recent Big Boy 4014 event and City staff, dangerous trees along an unopened section of West Holmes Avenue, repository property bids, the City’s urban camping ordinance and concerns involving South 5th Street. Council considered several resolutions, including property repository bids; two bids involving property on North 4th Avenue were tabled while related zoning issues were sorted out.
Council also approved an application for a $960,000 state Multimodal Transportation Fund grant for sidewalk and curb improvements along Seventh Street. Later discussion returned to the West Holmes Avenue tree concerns, with City staff continuing to investigate possible solutions, before Council took questions from the media.
